POST 7... The last...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

This post may seem like a story, but it is reality. In 1997, at the age of 17, I was a first-year Biochemistry student at the University of Chile. Now, in 2019 (more than 20 years later) I returned to the University of Chile, but as a Chemistry and Pharmacy student.

I tell you this, because my experience tells me that things have not changed much at the University and most of the changes that exist today are thanks to the pandemic.

I think the curriculum is fine, but I would just add some basic computer and programming courses that would be very helpful. On the other hand, it would allow education in a hybrid mode, since there are courses that can be done 100% online and the duration of the classes in blocks of 1 hour between small breaks...

The infrastructure is much better than it was in the 90s, but what still hasn't changed are the chairs, which are very uncomfortable. At the end of the class you are left with a great back pain and they are extremely uncomfortable to take notes and answer the tests...

Another thing that hasn't changed is the library and the computer room, which are literally from the last century... I hope that future generations will enjoy new improvements in the computer area and can have better chairs...

POST 6

 Time travel to the future

To be honest, for me it is much more interesting to travel to the past like Marty McFly in "Back to the future"... and as they say, "All past times were better". But we have a one-way arrow and today we will travel to the future.

I would like to look at Chile in about 30 years. Travel through time to the year 2052 and thus be able to see my children happy and with their goals fulfilled, see what their lives are like with their families and see if my role as a father was good. I would like to know what memories you have of me and my wife. My son Fernando would be 47 years old, my son Martín would be 42 and my little Victoria would be 34 years old. It would be beautiful to be able to travel through time and observe them as they are.

After observing and enjoying them for a few moments, I would return to my time, because I would like to be able to see how they walk along that path that led them to that future. I would like to live those moments by their side and be able to guide them on that path. I know you would be very proud of them.

POST 5

My future job

When I was a child, I always wondered ... What would be the job that I would do when I grew up? To be honest, this question did not have a very clear answer, but if I can say that when I was older, I wanted to be a scientist ...

When I was a kid, I always saw those cartoons where a mad scientist appeared, with his white apron and his big mustache, with his gray hair in the Albert Einstein style. This was the classic prototype of the scientist he wanted to be. Then when I was a little older, there was a great movie that I think deeply affected me. The movie was called "Outbreak" and it was at this point that I discovered what I wanted to do. Working in a high security laboratory (Biosafety Laboratory level 4), with the most lethal viruses in the world and with those famous “Teletubies” suits ... It is something that I have had to rethink, since I think about my family and I would not like to leave them alone because some careless person forgot to close the door ... JAJAJAJAJA ...

I always liked this world very much and I have prepared and specialized in some related topics. I am a Biochemist by profession and I am currently finishing my degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy, I also have studies in Cell and Molecular Biology, and other studies in Virology, which allow me to have the basis to understand this world. I do not lose hope that one day I will meet one of these laboratories ...

POST 4

Childhood Series

Today I am going to comment on those cartoons that marked my childhood, and not just my childhood, since there are those that caught my attention a little older. I start by clarifying some things that will make it easier to understand the context. Today I am 42 years old and the cartoons that I will tell you maybe you do not know, besides that I lived in a town where I could only watch 2 television channels (C13 and TVN) ...

When I was little with my friends we would meet in the afternoons to watch a great series called ROBOTECH and we all dreamed of piloting one of those fantastic ships. Being a little older, I was able to see a great Japanese animation series and with an extraordinary soundtrack called Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) that showed me a good history of ancient Japan ... Continuing with animation, Slam Dunk became one of the more entertaining series and that after 101 chapters I can still enjoy.

I could not forget one of the best series that I have been able to enjoy from beginning to end. Some will agree with me and some will not. DRAGON BALL Z is undoubtedly the best series I have seen ...

My Pets

To be honest, I haven't had a pet since I was little. When I was a child, I had a dog named Pelusa. It was a dog of the “quilterry” breed (a mixture of quilter and fox terry), white with black spots. Pelusa had puppies on several occasions and I and my brothers had a lot of fun with her adventures.

Later, my son Fernando had a hamster which was called "Chantaro", he lived freely in the house, since he did not like being in his cage. We lived through many funny stories, until he tragically died in the washing machine ... (sad story).

Currently, in my house there are two rabbits. One belongs to my son Martín, and it is a large white rabbit with different colored eyes called "Pingui". The other rabbit belongs to my daughter Victoria and is black and is called "Luna". Both rabbits are very funny and like to play with a ball. One of the biggest problems with them is that they bite everything and break a lot of things in the house. It is very funny to see that they behave differently from a rabbit and already behave as if they were dogs ... When you go out to look at them, they reach their feet moving their tails to be caressed. It's really very funny ...

The best concert ever

For many people it is very difficult to think which is the best concert of all time. I think that it is not so difficult to get to a particular event. It happened in London in 1986 on July 11 and 12 at the old Wembley Stadium. It is part of the last tour called “Magic Tour” of the QUEEN group.

This concert brought together more than 144,000 people, being the largest of this successful tour, especially on the second day (July 12), which is remembered as the best concert of all time.

Freddie Mercury had a cold that day, but he sang like his best day. For many people, the atmosphere was really extraordinary, you could feel the energy of the group and the fans, and a unique connection, as if they knew that this was the last tour the group would do. After the concert ended, guitarist Brian May says that Freddie Mercury ended this concert very exhausted saying “… I don't want to continue doing this…”. Freddie Mercury was diagnosed with HIV approximately 1 year later. Despite this history, this concert has been considered by many to be the best concert in history.

 POST 1

A country you would like to visit...

Since I was a child, England always caught my eye. It seems to me a great country, clean, orderly and respectful of its traditions. Sometimes, countries as impressive as England, make big mistakes, like BREXIT, which does not make its people very happy.

England has 51,383,000 people and an area of 130,395 km². It is not surprising that, with so many people and a great musical culture, England is the birthplace of great musical bands and by the way of the most important of all time ... I'm sure you thought of "The Beatles", but no ... greatest band of all time is Queen, with Freddie Mercury as the greatest singer of all time.

England is a great place to live, with great tourist attractions to visit, such as: Westminster Palace, Buckingham Palace, Wembley Stadium and see the great Ben Brereton play.

But what is most striking and I would like to visit is Stonehenge and connect with the cosmos and visitors from heaven ...

Greetings earthlings!
